Cameroon Nationals Enter BVI Illegally
Guavaberry Media has received information that six Cameroon nationals were able to enter the BVI illegally recently. It is understood they were able to enter the BVI via Antigua. The group has been apprehended by immigration authorities after contacting 911 after enduring challenging conditions the information noted.
The group initially expected to meet an accomplice upon arrival but had to seek refuge in the bushes due to unforeseen circumstances.
A request to the Chief Immigration Officer Ian Penn for confirmation on the information went unanswered up to press time.
Last year, over 900 West Africans arrived in Antigua causing controversy in particular across the eastern Caribbean islands. However, sources indicate that less than 100 of those 900 remain in Antigua. There is speculation that many have embarked on illegal boat trips to other territories as part of their onward journey to the United States.
Guavaberry Media is trying to ascertain how many may have entered the Territory illegally.
More to come on this developing story.
