The BVI’s D’Moi Hodge is set to make history tonight as the first basketball player from the BVI to be drafted by an NBA Franchise. It has been an exciting lead-up to this moment for D’Moi, who has had an outstanding final season with his University team Mizzou - Missouri State.

D’Moi Hodge, a 24-year-old Virgin Islander hailing from Cane Garden Bay, is the son of local Teacher Cleopatra King-Defraitas and Courtney ‘Coco’ Hodge. D’Moi has been playing basketball from a very young age and wanted nothing more than to go pro.

Jr Chiverton, another Virgin Islander hailing from Cane Garden Bay, saw the potential in D’Moi and was determined to see him through to pro at all costs, and he did just that.

Guavaberry Media took a moment to catch up with the real power and unsung hero behind D’Moi Hodge, Talent Finders, owned and operated by Jr. Chiverton. He expressed just a bit of what it took to get D’Moi to this point.

“I don’t even know how to feel because we’ve just been trying to live in the moment and stay focused.  It will hit me when we get to the arena. Talent Finders came about to help give kids like D'Moi and Adaejah a chance/opportunity to be successful.  D'Moi and Adaejah are the roots of Talent Finders, and they are opening doors for many others to follow in their footsteps. This journey has been a decade of ups and downs, but one thing we did was stay consistent, and now we’re here today.” Stated Chiverton.
