The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has confirmed a new Governor for the Territory. Mr. Daniel Pruce has been appointed the new Governor of the British Virgin Islands in succession to Mr. John Rankin CMG. 

Pruce will take up his appointment as of January 2024. 

His Excellency the Governor John Rankin CMG term as Governor of the British Virgin Islands will come to an end as of December 2023. 

The Virgin Islands is in the midst of implementing COI recommendations and the Counsel In Order is expected to be lifted in May of 2024.
