Port Purcell, Road Town, Tortola 24 July 2023– The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA) is issuing a reminder to the public regarding the timely collection of their cargo from the port facilities within the designated five working days. Prompt cargo collection plays a crucial role in helping the BVI Ports keep BVI moving. Considering the Atlantic Hurricane Season, it becomes even more essential to collect cargo swiftly due to the possibility of adverse weather conditions.

In preparation for the upcoming Festival Holidays, we are pleased to inform you that extended cargo collection hours will be available on Saturday, August 5th, until 3:30 pm. However, please be aware that during the Emancipation Festival holidays, the BVIPA offices and warehouses will remain closed from Monday, 7th August 2023, to Wednesday, 9th August 2023. Normal business hours will resume on Thursday, 10th August 2023.

Please take note that the Cargo Ports at Port Purcell, Tortola, and St. Thomas Bay, Virgin Gorda, will be closed on Monday, 7th August 2023, in accordance with the British Virgin Islands Ports Authority Regulations, 1995, 143 (3), “Every harbour shall normally be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Festival Monday and Christmas Day”. Cargo vessels will continue to be accommodated on the 8th and 9th of August 2023.
