Brutal Questionable Attacks Continue On Go Fast Boats
Confirmed reports to our media room are that on Saturday 12 August, a ‘Go Fast’ Apache boat was stolen from its location. The boat was later recovered by police based on a report they received. Reports indicate that a firearm and ammunition were recovered and the boat is now in police custody as investigations continue.
Unconfirmed reports allege that the owner of the ‘go fast’ Apache boat stolen on Saturday 12 August is Dante Wattley, local entertainer and son of the late former Legislator Paul Wattley.
Yet another incident involving a ‘go fast’ boat appeared to have taken place this morning Wednesday 16 August. Early unverified reports of a boat being set ablaze in the wee hours of this morning by A&A Laundry Mat in West End.
Police were reported to have been on scene for hours and had closed the roads, however, the road is now opened to through traffic.
Unconfirmed reports are that the boat in the fire is alleged to belong to Jareem Todman of Presidential Charters, a boating charter company in the Virgin Islands.
Just a couple months ago, some three (3) ‘go fast’ boats were burned in early morning incidents, two in West End and one at Road Reef.
In late July, after a chase with Police on the sea, one of the boats seized in the operation was burnt while in the possession of police.
The public remains heightened due to the increased levels of crime in the community.
