Former Public Prosecutor Valston Graham Under Investigation
On 14 August 2023, a report was made to the White Collar Crime Unit in St. Kitts & Nevis regarding a case of false pretense involving former BVI Public Prosecutor and most recently, DPP in the St. Kitts’ DPP’s Office.
The complaint centered around a vehicle that was purchased in February 2023.
According to the report, St. Kitts & Nevis Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. McCarta Browne had purchased a vehicle from former Director of Public Prosecutions Mr. Valston Graham. The report states that a sum of $40,000.00 was exchanged for the vehicle, with Mr. Graham assuring Mr. Browne that he was the sole owner. However, in June 2023 representatives from the Development Bank of St Kitts and Nevis contacted Mr. Browne and revealed that the purchased vehicle was the subject of a bill of sale agreement and should not have been sold.
Assistant Commissioner Browne reached out to Mr. Graham in an effort to resolve the matter with the bank. However, despite assurances from Mr. Graham, the situation remained unresolved. The bank then demanded the return of the vehicle, while Assistant Commissioner Browne’s attempts to contact Mr. Graham came up empty.
The case has been handed over to Superintendent Francis and an investigation launched.
Valston Graham spent eight (8) years in the BVI’s DPP’s office as a Public Prosecutor and is also a former officer of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.
