Plane Crashed On Anegada Carrying Cocaine

Reports to our news room from persons on the ground in Anegada is that a plane has crashed on Anegada between the early hours of 3am and 4am this morning, Wednesday 20th September carrying a large quantity of cocaine.

The plane which is reported to be a Cessna 402 twin engine crashed on the Anegada runway is said to have been carrying some 400 kilos of cocaine with a street value in the millions.

Reports are that the plane’s debris has been cleared from the runway and taken to the Anegada Police Station.

There are also reports of drugs found on the back of a tan coloured truck whose ownership has not yet been verified but Guavaberry Media understands that the truck belongs to a Fire Officer on the island.

We also understand that 400 kilos of cocaine has been taken to the Anegada dump to be destroyed.

As of publishing time, no reports of arrests have been reported and a pilot has not been identified in the crash nor anyone with affiliation to the plane found.

It was just a few weeks ago that a plane landed on the Anegada airport and was left abandoned with a large quantity of drugs on board, some 800 plus kilos. Three (3) persons from Anegada; a female and two males, one we understand to be a Fire Officer, were arrested in relation to that matter and released pending further investigations.

Residents are now concerned that given the heightened trafficking activity through the airport, that Police presence has not been increased on the island.

We will keep you updated as information is received on this breaking story.
