Detectives of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force have charged three males in relation to the recent recovery of ammunition.

Cordell Oneal, 38-year-old of Fresh Water Pond, Kanmi Oneal, 34-year-old of Pockwood Pond and Jelani Christopher, 31year old, of Cane Garden Bay were all jointly charged with Unlawful possession of explosives.

On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Police received information that men, armed with firearms, were traversing Road Town, raising concerns for the safety of residents. As a result, several vehicles, including one occupied by the three men, were stopped and searched in the Road Town area, During the search a loaded magazine with 31 rounds of high-velocity ammunition was recovered.

All three men will remain in police custody pending their appearance at the Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.

Cordell and Kanmi Oneal are the sons of former legislator and 2023 Festival Village Honourary Irene Penn Oneal.
