Sources reveal that there was a leak of Gaseous Chlorine at the abandoned Water & Sewerage compound just outside of the Public Works Department in the Baughers Bay area earlier today. 

We understand that DDM (Disaster Management) were on site to assess the situation. The Fire Department is still on the scene. 

Guavaberry Media went to the area a short while ago and the scent of the chlorine is indeed overwhelming. We understand it to be flammable and toxic so we are therefore advising the public to be cautious when traversing the area.

We further understand the issue to be an existing one and that a leak has happened at least twice before. We’ve been told that the tanks are like a bomb and has the potential to wipe out both compounds; the W & S Department and the Public Works Department.
