UPDATE: Shocking - All House of Assembly Members Missing from Governor's Departure Ceremony

UPDATE

Our newsroom has been informed that all Members of the HOA were in fact not invited to the Governor’s Departure Ceremony.

However, both the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition were ‘no shows’

We understand the Premier was tardy in getting to the Ceremony although it had started some 20 minutes late. The Opposition Leader we understand is heading to Jost Van Dyke for the opening ceremony of the new school complex, although the ceremony starts at midday and the boat departure time is around noon.

The question arises of competent leadership on both sides of the aisle; and as leaders speak of further self determination, what that looks like in visual and diplomatic maturity.

This story continues to develop.

……………………………………………….

In a shocking turn of events, the Governor's departure ceremony was marred by the conspicuous absence of the House of Assembly (HOA) members, including the Premier, raising eyebrows and igniting rumors of a potential power struggle between the executive and legislative branches of the government.

The Governor’s leaving ceremony, which was meant to be a dignified and ceremonial affair, took an unexpected turn as the seats reserved for the HOA members remained conspicuously vacant. Speculation immediately ran rife, with whispers of a deliberate boycott circulating among attendees and media personnel present at the event.

Sources close to the matter have hinted at simmering tensions between the governor and the HOA, with rumors suggesting that the absence of the assembly members may be a direct response to the governor's recent push for increased executive powers. This move has undoubtedly raised concerns about the balance of power within the government and has sparked public outrage and curiosity alike.

Anonymous sources within the assembly have hinted at a growing discontent among the members, citing the Governor’s recent attempts to consolidate authority as a pivotal point of contention.

The absence of the HOA members at such a significant event has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, leaving many questioning the future of governance in the region. As the drama unfolds, the public eagerly waits for an official response from both the Governor’s office and the House of Assembly, seeking clarity on the motives behind this brazen display of dissent.

We are unsure whether the Governor’s Office will issue a statement regarding the conspicuous absence of the assembly members.

As the story continues to develop, Guavaberry Media will remain at the forefront, diligently uncovering the truth behind this gripping saga of political intrigue and power dynamics at the highest levels of government. Stay tuned for further updates as we delve deeper into this sensational controversy.

It’s diplomatic immaturity. The country (versus territory) is not new to this. They snub us all the time. We got better things to do then to continue lapping someone’s hand. Look at them there there cheesing…just waiting on crumbs. We are better than crumbs.

Some may say it’s petty. Some may say it’s unprofessional. Others may say it’s undignified. I say ABOUT D@MN TIME!!!! They don’t get to choose what’s dignified for us (…or they shouldn’t be allowed to). Kudos. I’m sure a woman suggested this cause it takes real balls to do real. 🤣
