THREE NOW CHARGED FOLLOWING SEARCH OPERATION AND SUBSEQUENT PURCELL ARRESTS

Monday, March 4 – Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force have charged three persons in relation to the firearms, ammunition, and drugs found on Friday, March 1, in Purcell Estate.

Seantroy Hanley, 36 and Jahkeema Charles, 32, both of Fat Hog’s Bay, were jointly charged with two counts of Keeping a Firearm without a License, two counts of Unlawful Possession of Explosives, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug with intent to supply.

Quentin Noel, 19, of Purcell Estate, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug.

Charles was granted bail in the sum of $40,000 to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on April 18, 2024.

Hanley and Noel remain in custody until the next available sitting at the Magistrate’s Court.

Saturday, March 2 – On Friday, March 1, Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force conducted an extensive search after 5 pm in the vicinity of the basketball court in Purcell estate. During the search, two firearms, several rounds of ammunition, a large quantity of marijuana, and a quantity of crack cocaine were found. Three persons have been taken into custody for questioning concerning the items found.

The RVIPF is urging persons who may have knowledge of persons in possession of illegal firearms to confidentially call the Crime Stoppers line 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas call 1-284-800-8477 with the relevant information; or contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368 9339.
