Around midnight last night, 5 March, Residents of the eastern Districts, specifically in the Hodge’s Creek area, were awakened by the sounds of a helicopter, the Marine Police boat on water, and flashing Police lights in the said area.  They were in high pursuit of what seemed to be a boat on the water, suspected of criminal activity. 

It appeared to be a joint operation and one boat appear to have been seized. The boat is said to have run aground between Fat Hogs Bay and Hodges Creek, where the occupant/s escaped on land which lead to the intense search.

There are no reports of arrests at this time. We will keep you updated on this breaking story.
