The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is investigating a shooting incident in the Meyers area that left a man injured.

Police said the incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, when the man was reportedly approached by two males near his residence.

The suspects are described as slim-built and dressed entirely in black. During the incident, one shot was reportedly fired, leaving the man with what appears to be a gunshot wound. He later made his way to Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital, where he sought medical attention.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

Acting Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or noticed suspicious activity in the Meyers area around the time to come forward.

“We take incidents involving firearms seriously. Our detectives are working to establish the circumstances and identify those responsible. I urge anyone with information about this incident or suspicious activity in the Meyers area to come forward. Even the smallest detail could assist the investigation.”
