Francis Lettsome Is Inter-Primary School Athletic Champions
The Inter-Primary Schools Track and Field Championships has ended with the Francis Lettsome Primary School being the best primary school in the Territory athletically.
The events commenced with an opening ceremony and parade of teams at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds on April 3 to 5 followed by events ranging from three hundred meters races to four by one-hundred meter relays.
The sporting events culminated with the two hundred meter races to the Sprint Medley Relay Finals and announcement of the winning school.
Acting Director of Youth and Affairs and Sports Ms. Shaunice Leonard said the 2024 Inter-Primary School Athletics Championships was a success and showcased the exceptional athletic talent of students across the Territory.
Ms. Leonard said, “I am delighted with the outstanding performances that have taken place, highlighting the importance of promoting sports and healthy competition among the youth.”
“The championship serves as a platform for our students to excel, instill teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. I look forward to the continued support from parents, teachers, coaches, officials and the community.” Ms. Leonard said.
Division Champions for each age group as well as the Victor and Victrix Ludorum, for the boy and girl with the highest individual scores for the different divisions are as follows:
- Kaera Creque from Robinson O’Neal Memorial Primary School and Maykasha Hypolyte from Ebenezer Thomas Primary school tied for Victrix Ludorum with thirty 30 individual points.
- Ackeel Boreland from Ivan Dawson Primary school won Victor with 30 individual points.
- Jonathon Gordon from Francis Lettsome Primary school scored the most points in the male under nine division with 20 points,
- Cliffon Logan of Francis Lettsome Primary school scored the most points in the male under eleven division with 24 points.
- D’Karai Prescott scored the most points in the male under thirteen division with 24 points.
- Ackeel Boreland from Ivan Dawson Primary school scored the most points in the male thirteen plus division with 30 points.
- Odia Lettsome from Willard Wheatley Primary school scored the most points in the female under nine division with 20 points.
- Chrisonda Pinnock from Joyce Samuel Primary school scored the most points in the female under eleven division with 26 points.
- Kaeja Creque from Robinson O’Neal Memorial Primary school scored the most points in the female under thirteen division with 30 points.
- Maykasha Hypolyte from Ebenezer Thomas Primary school scored the most points in the female thirteen plus division with 30 points.
