Illegal Immigrants Via Cruise Ships Becoming Problematic For Territory
Another cruise ship passenger has reportedly absconded while visiting the Territory. A growing trend of persons having entered the Virgin Islands via cruise ship and failing to leave legally appears to be taking hold.
On Sunday April 28, a Columbian female Monica Marcela Pineda, is said to have entered the Territory via the Norwegian Sky and has neither returned to the ship nor departed the Territory legally.
Pascal Bosman of Netherlands and Martire Cabrera of Dominican Republic (carrying a St. Kitts & Nevis passport) who arrived on April 19 via cruise ship, are said to still be at large in the Territory.
The local authorities are asking persons that may have any information on the whereabouts of Mrs. Pineda to contact the Department of Immigration at 468-4705, 468-4717, 468-4754 or the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Hotline at 311.
