Premier Quietly Cuts Trip Short And Returns To Territory
Under what appears to be the dark and cover of night, the Premier has cut his trip short, and returned to the island our sources are confirming. The Premier was due to return to the Territory on or around 12 June.
Our sources are confirming that the Premier was ordered back to the Territory as ‘things aren’t well’, and he is needed on the ground. Also confirmed is that a UK Official was on the ground and unable to meet with the Premier due to him being out of the Territory. The Official met with the Deputy Premier Lorna Smith in the Premier’s absence.
The heavily scrutinized and debated Crown Land Legislation that is said to be in Committee stage, must be passed in rapid order as we understand to be the case. Passing this legislation is an important portion of the COI recommendations. Members of the HOA are said to be in Committee Stage of the HOA as we write this article.
We also understand that the finances of the Territory are in a critical state. $20 million dollars it is said was approved in the 2024 budget to implement the adjusted raises for the Civil Service. However, it is our understanding that although the $20 million was listed in the budget, the amount had not been allotted for, throwing the Government finances into absolute chaos.
The rumblings of poor leadership in the present Premier continue to grow louder, as the Territory crumbles under bad infrastructure, poor financial decisions and management, mismanagement of Government funds, and lack of prioritisation of the Territory’s needs.
Despite heavy public criticism, disapproval and push back, the Premier proceeded to fund a music fest which saw a loss of almost a million dollars of the people’s money.
The Premier left the Territory on 1 June for the Cayman Islands to review the merger of their Customs and Immigration Departments. After which, he was scheduled to be in New York for yet another climate change conference. His travels continue to come under heavy scrutiny and criticism from an exhausted public.
