On Friday, August 23, 2024, one male was arrested and subsequently charged, following an intelligence-led, stop-and-check operation, which was part of a concerted effort to address recent incidents of public disorder.

Romario Morgan, 28, of Chalwell Estate, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 and is scheduled to appear at Magistrate’s Court on August 29.

During continuing patrols and checks on Saturday, August 24, two additional males were arrested after attempting to evade police in the Purcell Estate area. These individuals were interviewed and processed, then placed on conditional bail and are required to return to the Road Town Police Station on September 25, 2024.

These patrols are part of an ongoing strategy by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force to enhance public safety and deter criminal activity. The RVIPF will continue its proactive operations to ensure that those who engage in illegal activities are held accountable.

Acting Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool stressed the importance of these efforts, stating, " We will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the peace and security of our communities. The RVIPF will persist in its efforts to apprehend those who engage in criminal behaviour and bring them to justice."

The RVIPF urges the public to continue supporting these efforts by reporting any suspicious activities or information that may assist in ongoing investigations. Community cooperation remains a critical component in the fight against crime.
