Road Town Wholesale has introduced the ‘Round Up For Charity’ initiative to the Virgin Islands, encouraging customers to round up their cents at the register, in aid of local charities.
The initiative which started in July is proving to be a success straight away, with the Family Support Network (FSN) being the most recent recipient.
During the month of August, thanks to customers who rounded up their change at the checkouts, RTW raised an incredible $2,720.00 for their August Charity of the Month, Family Support Network.
The proceeds were presented on Monday, 2nd September 2024, we presented to representatives of the Family Support Network, Ms. Keicia Dawson, Executive Director and Ms. Sandra Mills, Program Coordinator.
Ms. Dawson and Ms. Mills of FSN also took the opportunity to present Roadtown Wholesale Trading Limited with a 'Community Spirit Award' to acknowledge their long-standing support and commitment to the organization.
Adding their own twist to the Round Up For Charity initiative, RTW is celebrating the three (3) top cashiers for their extra effort in ensuring the success of the initiative.
“Joining in the celebration, we're proud to recognize three amazing cashiers who went the extra mile and made a meaningful contribution to the August Charity.” RTW stated
The top three (3) Cashiers celebrated
‘Charity Button Champions’ for the month of August were:
1st Place: Michelle Boyle who raised $655.59. Michelle led the way with exceptional dedication, driving us forward and helping us achieve new milestones!
2nd Place: Merlene Pierre who raised $394.12. ‘With unwavering consistency and passion, Merlene delivered an impressive performance and made a significant impact through her determination and drive.’
3rd Place: Allette Challenger who raised $327.20. ‘Wrapping up our top three, Allette's full commitment and enthusiasm made a genuine impact and truly stood out.’
The initiative continues with the charity button for the month of September dedicated to the Virgin Islands Alzheimer's Association.
“Every spare change counts, and together, we can help make a difference in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's in the BVI.” RTW stated
Tell a friend or family member to round up their cents at the cashiers when cashing out. The more support, the bigger the impact on local charitable organizations.
PAW BVI was the first official recipient, receiving $1600 in rounded up donations.
