The Premier is providing funding through yet another SAP to offer former Speaker Julian Willock a contract with the Premier’s Office, as an Advisor. 

Willock who was arrested and charged earlier this year with conspiracy to provide false information to a person employed in the public service, conspiracy to uttering a forged document, and being a public official using his office for gratification, is said to allegedly be under serious financial strain. 

The former Speaker, under circumstances the Territory is still unclear of, was sacked by Premier Wheatley in mid 2022. It is alleged that upon his firing, Willock held a meeting with former Governor John Rankin to ‘beg’ for a payout, citing lack of a pension and that he would become financially destitute. It is also alleged that he also ‘begged’ the Premier for a payout, however, we understand the Unity Government Cabinet at the time, pushed back against the payout. 

The Premier who has gained notoriety for abusing his office, continues on the same path, seeking more and more funding through SAPs to satisfy political insiders, and others he is alleged to have very intimate and personal relationships with, posing as Advisors.
