Celebrated Local Chef Imran Ashton Joins The Loose Mongoose
The Loose Mongoose is repositioning itself as the favourite ‘foodie’ spot on Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and has recruited renowned local top Chef, Imran Ashton to make it a reality.
Chef Imran brings years of restaurant experience to Loose Mongoose, beginning his career some 23 years ago. Ashton has worked at some of the most prestigious establishments in the Caribbean (The Body Holiday, Le Sport, St. Lucia), as well as Europe (The River Café, London) and the U.S (Federal House, Annapolis, Maryland). He has won numerous awards as a member of the BVI National Culinary Team as well as individually and has represented the British Virgin Islands in a number of culinary events both locally and internationally as a Culinary Ambassador.
Chef Imran has been fortunate to work with some highly seasoned chefs and sommeliers to broaden his palate of food pairing and food styles. All of this experience he brings to the Loose Mongoose.
“I, along with the entire staff, have been tasked with taking the Loose Mongoose to another level in all areas.” Chef Imran pointed out, noting that he is ‘excited’ about working with his new team.
“Imran came to our Loose Mongoose family with a strong record of accomplishment as an award-winning BVI chef and a solid reputation for delicious and flavourful meals. Teaming Chef Imran with our already great existing ambiance and team was an opportunity to truly make Loose Mongoose one of the best BVI branded experiences in the Country.” Sadiqua Chinnery, GM at Loose Mongoose.
The Loose Mongoose was reimagined, redesigned and rebuilt after the devastating hurricanes of 2017. The Loose Mongoose symbolizes serenity and the epitome of island living. Its sister companies are Anegada Beach Club and Lobster Trap, both on Anegada.
