Information reaching our news room indicates that Attorney Jack Husbands has been tipped as the new Chairman of the Labour Tribunal. 

In a press conference held by the Premier and Deputy Premier on Tuesday May 16, the question of a replacement was posed by Guavaberry Media. Both the Premier Dr. Natalio Wheatley and Deputy Premier Lorna Smith OBE confirmed that Cabinet had recently approved someone, but did not indicate who. However, both did say an announcement would be made shortly. 

The Labour Tribunal has been without a Chairman since July 2022. The vacancy has created much frustration for persons as the vacancy forced cases to sit in limbo for almost one year. 

Jamaal Smith is the former Chairman of the Labour Tribunal. His tenure came to a close in July of 2022.
