Kadeem Maynard To Change Plea In Drug and Money Laundering Case
In a surprise turn of events, Kadeem Maynard will change his plea in charges laid on him following his arrest. Maynard, along with his mother, Oleanvine Maynard, and former Premier Andrew Fahie were arrested in early 2022 and charged in a Florida Court with drug trafficking, money laundering, and later racketeering. A change of plea hearing has been set for the 32-year-old co-defendant for June 12, 2023. Maynard faces one count each of conspiracy to import a controlled substance, conspiracy to engage in money laundering and attempted money laundering. There is no indication in the documents filed today as to which count(s) he intends to change his plea on.
A change in plea could likely mean that Maynard has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in the case. Maynard had previously entered a plea of not guilty on all charges.
The case against Fahie is set for early July. To date, prosecutors have shared hundreds of video clips with defense attorneys.
Kadeem Maynard was arrested in St. Thomas on April 28th 2022.
