SEDI-CASE is pleased to announce the appointment of Marjorie Smith, a new Blue Economy and maritime sector leadership team Advisory Board Member expert.
Marjorie Smith is a thought leader bringing a wealth of knowledge, expertise and proficiency in maritime industry transportation logistics in both the US & British Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean markets. Ms Smith will serve as an invaluable advisory board member to the recently launched regional maritime ferry network consortium of Pleion Group/Connect Caribe, Connect Caribe USVI, Port St. Croix, and Travel Share It Marketplace of Air Sea Transportation Alliance (ASTA). Port St. Croix (USVI) serves as one of the 3rd main transportation hubs, to include Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago.
As the President of Smith’s Ferry and the daughter of the late Captain Ira L. Smith, Marjorie Smith carries on her father’s legacy with pride and passion. Her deep commitment to the transportation industry in the Virgin Islands drives her dedication to providing exceptional ferry services. Marjorie’s vision for the future of Smiths Ferry includes sustainable practices and community engagement, making her a pivotal leader in the industry.
As an Advisory Board Member, Ms. Smith will serve as the liaison to spearhead the planning, coordination with these Virgin Islands ferry service operators currently in operation, and their service integration with the Connect Caribe regional ferry service network of passenger and cargo throughout the Caribbean.
