Leverick Bay Poker Run Returns
It is a holiday weekend across the Territory, and the jurisdiction welcomes back the annual Leverick Bay Poker Run. The event which has become a staple on the BVI Calendar of Events, had to take a hiatus due to the Covid Pandemic but returns this Sunday May 27th. The event will be celebrating its 19th Anniversary this year.
During the Leverick Bay Poker Run, participants travel a pre-designated route drawing a card at each stop until they complete the route at Leverick Bay Resort & Marina. At the end of the journey, participants holding the best poker hands are crowned Poker Run champions. Prizes are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place hands.
A significant portion of donations from sponsors – be it monetary, gifts or in-kind sponsorships – and a portion of the Poker Run participants’ entry fees, are donated to numerous Charitable Foundations on Virgin Gorda including VGROC, The Virgin Gorda Charitable Trust and the ARC. Over the past 18 years, over $155,000 USD has been donated to charity.
The event will see some 230 plus boats competing and thousands of revelers enjoying the activities of the day. Stops include the Loose Mongoose, Foxy’s Taboo, The Bight, Pier Park and Saba Rock.
We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable event.
