In a press conference held this morning February 8, 2023, Perline Scatliffe-Leonard, former Director of Water & Sewerage announced her Candidacy for the upcoming general elections. Scatliffe-Leonard who is known to be a VIP supporter for years, has entered the ring as an Independent Candidate.

On Sunday February 5, 2023, the Virgin Islands Party released an initial list of some 10 persons who would be seeking election under their party banner. Missing from that list however, was At Large Member of the House of Assembly and member of the VIP, Junior Minister for Trade the Honourable Shereen Flax-Charles. This came as a shock to some but certainly not a surprise to many as rumours have been swirling for months as it relates to her position in the party.

In reports just reaching our news room, the Deputy Director of the BVI Tourist Board, Rhodni Skelton is no longer employed at the BVI Tourist Board. He has been at the Board for some 19 years.
